Dr. Lisa Harrison is a researcher, lecturer, and founder of The Fabric Room, a marketing agency that specialises in niche digital marketing and social media strategies. Her doctoral research was the first qualitative-based investigation into the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of successful micro-influencers. Her thesis also investigated successful micro-influencers for a better understanding on how to engage and attract an audience. As a result of her research, Dr. Harrison has built up extensive knowledge of the impact micro-influencers have on consumers’ purchase decisions and consumer behaviour. Dr. Harrison’s primary focus lies in helping brands to understand how they can address this new type of influencer effectively.
Since 2010 when I first launched Social Media Mastery, the course has become an innovative training program for hundreds of participants that continues to evolve with new technologies, trends and consumer insights.

I hold a degree with distinction in media and communications from the Queensland University of Technology – I have been actively involved in media for my entire career.
Since 1999 I have worked coordinating marketing programs for such organisations as the Royal National Association (RNA Brisbane Ekka) and Birch Carrol and Coyle Cinemas, I have many large (and not so large) successful campaigns under my belt.
In 2008 I became Director of Digital for leading Queensland design + strategy company – POMO – to lead the company’s strategic move into digital and social media marketing.
In 2012, I won the Professional Business Woman of the Year Award on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
In 2013 I was a Queensland finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards.
I spend time overseas every year attending cutting edge global think-tanks and conferences. In Australia, I’m a speaker, trainer and consultant on all things social media.
